A really nice redesign and I agree with all the points made about the previous design. Sometimes there can be nothing wrong with a design it just needs some edits to show a clear hierarchy between the elements. Until it was mentioned in this post I had no idea this was to promote a book so this shows that you need to make sure this is clear from the off! A really nice redesign.
