35 Astonishingly Intricate Ice Sculptures

As an artist sculpture is something that I’ve always been very interested in. However, to be perfectly honest I feel a lot more comfortable with a pencil and paper, or working in Photoshop, than I do attempting something in 3d.

It is from my various attempts at sculpting that I got to appreciate how difficult it is, and how much talent some sculpters must possess to produce such beautiful works of art. Of all sculpting mediums, ice sculpting is amongst the most beautiful, and most difficult. Asides from the freezing working conditions, the sheer fragility of the ice means that creating something intricate is near impossible. However, these artists break that idea – in a big way!

The following 35 ice sculptures show off a super-human level of talent, and I hope that they impress and inspire you as much as they have done me. When looking at them pay particular attention to the intricate areas that diverge from the main mass of ice, and consider how much precision and delicacy must have been used to produce them.

Some utterly awe inspiring sculptures there – I hope they never get left to melt. The T Rex and Chinese buildings are the best.

The creativity and skill of some people is incredible…

These are incredible, I saw some other amazing ice sculptures in London last week and I was astonished by the attention to detail in some of the designs.
