An effective website headline should include some of (if not all of) the following points:
Headline typography should be big and very readable. Think lots of padding, large usable fonts, plenty of white space.
Headlines should have plenty of impact, usually being the most impactful aspect of the entire web page.
What is the headline being used for. It’s no good just slapping on some bold text, you need to consider the reason for your headline. Are you trying to sell yourself, sell a product, be funny?
Consider whether you want to draw your viewer DOWN your page, or FURTHER into the rest of your website.
