Alexis Marcou is one of my all time favorite illustrators. His work uses a hand sketched look, combined with digital precision to create sharp, yet highly creative, expressive pieces. Alexis is from Greece, and frequently explores dark themes in his work, such as drug abuse, mental anguish and child abuse. However, rather than being unsettling, his work is beautiful, rich in details and hugely inspiring.
I love the black and white approach, mixed with subtle colors, textures and lighting, some of which are applied in Photoshop. Alexis uses a really unique shading approach also, which is reminiscent of cubism.

Tom is the founder of PSDFAN. He loves writing tutorials, learning more about design and interacting with the community. On a more interesting note he can also play guitar hero drunk with his teeth.
