Inspiring Drawing and Illustration Projects

Inspiring Drawing and Illustration Projects

Sometimes it can be good to get away from the computer and remember non-digital art. Today we take a look at 4 very inspiring non-digital art projects that showcase some very different (yet all awesome) styles of drawing and illustration.

Please go and check out each artist’s portfolio as they all really deserve the recognition.

Andreas Preis – Drawings…

I’ve always loved cross-hatching, and Andreas Preis demonstrates the art-form perfectly. He uses a combination of fineliners, markers, pencils and brushes to achieve unique style. His bolder outline strokes resemble vector work, whilst the intricate details of his fineliner provides endless inspiration!

Fernando Forero – Illustrations

Fernando Forero has a really unique style. He combines gothic, archaic drawings and sketches with various textures and surfaces. The effect is a set of mixed-media masterpieces sure to inspire you!

Iain Macarthur – Portrait Drawing Part 2

Iain Macarthur has a great style working with pencils. He also mixes many of his works with digital mediums, such as vector illustrations. The result is a collection of works that capture both the sketchy and the precise, and the two opposites seem to work beautifully together.

David Fullarton – Moleskine

David Fullarton presents his art in a diary like format, by filling up the pages of a Moleskine notebook that he received as a gift. The doodle-like sketches, handwritten typography and epic drawings form a kind of mind-map of the artist, and the project is hugely inspiring.
