I can’t seem to be able to do step 4. I have a PC (so the command alternative is control) but all that seems to be able to make me do is duplicate both the splash and the dancer layers.

Where did you get the specific splash brush set? It does not seem to be a preset in CS5.

Yes that’s something I’m looking into right now. We will most likely be offering video tutorials around the start of next year.
