Featured Artist: Samuel Carter Mensah
Samuel Carter Mensah is a brilliant digital artist from London, UK (My home town!). His work is a fantastic mix of illustration, photo manip work and typography. He shows a real range of talent in his portfolio, as you can see from his detailed typographic pieces, real-life paintings and awesomely detailed photo montages.
Samuel’s attention to detail is what makes me love his work so much. In the below examples you can really get a sense for this. In his Gaga 2.0 composition (one of my favorite pieces of the year so far) he really takes detail to an extreme level. What could have been a minimal, effective piece is transformed to a richly detailed, multi-layered work of art. His typographic work is equally impressive, as he converts detailed sketches to clean, impactful digital images.
