30 Minute Redesign: Clube de Gerenciamento de Projetos

Week 13: Clube de Gerenciamento de Projetos

Clube de Gerenciamento de Projeto.

In the space of 5 minutes I can identify some of the key strengths and weaknesses of this design, and sketch out a mockup.

STRENGTHS:

  • Relatively clear and prominent menu
  • Prominent logo and heading text

WEAKNESSES:

  • Browser compatibility means that the page isn’t displaying properly, pushing most of the content right down the page
  • The site feels very rigid, sticking within strict tables, made more rigid by unprofessional borders
  • The color-scheme is very 90s, lacking any gradients or complimenting colors.
  • The typography is generally far too small, making it hard to read.
  • Upon scrolling down there is far too much content, this needs simplifying.

My Redesign

As always, I was limited by the 30 minute time-frame, but I tried to improve upon several of Clube GP’s features, adding a few design flourishes and a clearer layout that promoted content over wasted space:

WHAT I TRIED TO DO:

  • Updated the color-scheme, introducing more professional gradients
  • Fixed the browser issue, pushing vital content up the page to prevent as much scrolling
  • Created clear headings and larger typography for a more readable web experience.
  • Simplified the page by omitting some of the content
  • Stripped away the rigid table format, giving more white space and a feeling of freedom in the design.

Comparing the 2 Designs:

Here is a quick comparison between the original design and my 30 minute redesign. Sure, my design could be more polished, but I believe that a lot of the basic elements have been improved upon, creating a more pleasant browsing experience.

Tom please Redesign my site http://www.pnsecurity.com.

i m waiting when my turn will come of redesigning of my site.

  2. Nice work Tom. I think this is the best one you’ve done to date. Not because the redesign is particularly special per se, but more because the difference between the original and the redesign is so pronounced.

You’ve transformed a bland, unusable site into something worth shouting about and if the guys at Clube de Gerenciamento de Projetos have any sense they’ll contract you immediately to do a complete redesign and rebuild.

Keep the 30 minute redesigns coming – I absolutely love this series.
