30 Minute Redesign: Week 5 Vote

Missed Week

Unfortunately last week I missed the redesign post as I was on vacation. I’d planned to carry out the post anyway but PSDFAN was suffering from some serious issues following a server upgrade, meaning that I couldn’t keep to my planned posting schedule. The posts are back on track though!

30 Minute Redesigns

I hope many of you saw last week’s 30 minute redesign. If you missed it then please check out the redesign I did of Austin Luker

30 Minute Redesign: Austin Luker

The idea is that I redesign a website in just 30 minutes, trying to improve upon it’s design aspects. I then publish a case-study of my improvements for learning purposes and email the webmaster the final .psd design. I will be doing one redesign each week, and to be eligible for the following week’s redesign you must leave a comment to the previous week’s redesign with your web address and why you would like a redesign.

Voting Begins

After receiving lots of great comments to last week’s redesign post, I’m happy to present the candidates for this Saturday’s redesign.

Please look over the websites below, and then use the poll at the bottom of this post to choose which site you’d like to see redesigned:

1: Flag Co

2: Peter Allen Memorial Lectures

3: Stop Cancer Portugal

4: Motel Cisne

5: Jigsaw Media

Vote Now!

Please cast your vote using the poll below:

Be sure to check back on Saturday for the winning case-study!

Stop Cancer Portugal should get a redesign. It has a purpose that is world wide: defeat cancer.

  2. Nahid says:

Same here, Stop cancer portugal should get a redesign

  3. Gus says:

    I totally agree with Jae.

  4. Mike C says:

Could there be two redesigns this week?

It’s the votes that count. Just because it’s for a good cause doesn’t mean it automatically deserves to win. That wouldn’t be fair. Fair = voting.

  6. Vim says:

Flag Co looks like it needs a redesign, which would be a really good re-design think of all the possible colours you could use, however I’d have to vote for stop cancer Portugal for the same reason as the others cancer is a worldwide problem affecting many people, plus the site looks plain and looks like a template site, Good Selection here Tom, Thanks!

  7. troll says:

I don’t understand why a “web designer” should be considered for this. It should be their own obligation to make their own damn website. its like false advertisement.

  8. Lena Tailor says:

1: Flag Co. Defiantly need a designs help…. No doubt about it..

@troll I don’t understand why you’re calling out the “web designer” when every nominee is a “web designer”. You’re an idiot.

For the record, the web designer DID make his own website. If you would notice the “web designer’s” comment on LAST WEEK’s 30 minute redesign he said he was a recent Digital Media graduate. THAT MEANS HE’S FAIRLY NEW TO THE WEB DESIGN WORLD. So he asked Tom here for his help and opinions– after all, he’s quite the expert. I don’t expect you to understand. You are exactly what your name states. A troll. Get a life and quit bashing people over the internet.

  10. Shane says:

I think that ‘Flag Co’ is in definite need of a redesign, could be a hard to do in 30 minutes though, as there is a lot on the site!

But the ‘Stop Cancer Potugal’ site is for a great cause and needs a redesign, would be nice to use the Portuguese flag colours!

    Good luck.

  11. Firstly, why on earth is the jigsaw site included? That’s already better than 80% of sites on the net.

Stop Cancer Portugal definitely deserves a redesign plus it’s a testing subject to create a nice design for.
