Same Old Grunge… Or Not!
I’m a big fan of the grunge design trend, but unfortunately most roundup posts seem to dwell on the same grungy designs time after time, which creates of a bit of a problem if you’re trying to get inspired. I personally love the design over at Carsonified.com, but after seeing it a hundred times I feel that I need something new, fresh and exciting to inspire me.
Because of this, I’ve compiled a list of 35 beautiful grungy website designs, but made sure that they aren’t the same popular designs that crop up on every design blog. Hopefully you haven’t seen many of this list before, but will be inspired by the seriously talented designs showcased. Enjoy!

I like how Design Shard has all the sharing, contact, feeds and such organized into one space. There are *way* to many tired grungy sites and I was starting to tire of the trend. Thank you for this post, it showed me that there is still some creativity left in the “genre” I guess. LOL

paul: I know what you mean, I love grunge, but was starting to tire of it a bit too. It’s important to look beyond the ‘big-boys’ of an genre, and see the wealth of smaller talent out there though.

Like someone mentioned…grunge design needs to be perfect, otherwise it turns in to a confused mess. Richie Linao’s site is a good example. So many type styles, colors, such a terrible design I’m not sure how it made it to this gallery to be honest. Some of the other sites are done well, with the grunge effects working much better. And the clown site? Yikes. Does that site come with a restraining order against buba der clown?
