These are some really great examples of Digital Painting! No easy feat, that’s for sure.
Thanks Eric! Have you ever tried it on this sort of scale yourself? I’m a non-digital painter, and it definitely takes some practice to even master the basics of digital painting.
You know, I have attempted to do a few digital paintings before and I think they started to get progressively better although I hadn’t really done it using a photo reference before. I’m sure that would help to use those kinds of references rather than just starting from scratch. Other than that, the closest design to a digital painting I’ve actually completed was the ‘Pop Star’ piece that I did as a tutorial a while back. It was pretty time consuming, but well worth the efforts!
Yeah, it definitely helps that you can draw to begin with. I think a good foundation in art is definitely necessary to become a decent digital painter. Also a tablet is pretty vital, I remember struggling with a mouse a while ago haha.

What a amazing collection of digital painting, its hard to believe that some of these aren’t real, these type of digital paintings is really a true form of art.
What’s really amazing is that some of these are hard to differentiate from a real image Digital painting #2 and #4 are my favourites in this collection.
