It’s Our Birthday!

Today I’m very happy to announce that PSDFAN is 2 years old!

It’s been an incredible 2 years, and here are some highlights:

• Surpassing 10,000 subscribers (and indeed 25,000 recently, although this has dipped slightly after I couldn’t update the site for a while *more on this later in the post*).
• Our community growing into one of the most friendly, active communities in the design world. I’ve met some great people, and always tried to interact with all my readers.
• Steadily building up a team of awesome guest authors, I’d like to extend particular thanks to our texture author Andre Meca, who provides wonderful textures each week as part of our Texture Thursday series
• Introducing the 30 Minute Redesign series, which takes place each Saturday. This post series is now in it’s 15th week, and has had some stella reviews from various members of the design community.
• Launching our highly popular VIP members area. This was something I’d meant to do for a while, and now after several months the members area is steadily growing, and providing more and more value for our awesome member community.

What We Have Planned for the Future

As you can see, we’ve been very busy for the past 2 years. However, I think it’s safe to say that this is only the beginning for PSDFAN!

Many of you may have known that I’ve been at university for the past 4 years. Whilst it was an amazing experience, it did impact on PSDFAN, as clearly at times I had to concentrate on my degree. Thankfully I graduated early this week, (with the degree I wanted!), and so now am completely free from academic responsibilities!

What does this mean for PSDFAN? Well essentially I’m taking the site from very much part-time to full-time. Here are some of the benefits you can look forward to:

• PSDFAN is getting a complete redesign in the coming weeks. This will bring a ton of improvements and benefits for our visitors and VIP members.
• Also in the coming weeks we will be launching our very own NETWORK! You may have seen me dropping hints about this on Twitter. I can’t release more details just yet, but I’m INCREDIBLY excited about this. Expect to see some awesome sister sites being released, as well as huge benefits for our community.
• As this will now be a full-time endeavor I’ll be taking on board a more regular team of staff. This will mean that we’ll be hiring some of the best designers in the world to write some amazing new content for us. We’ll be posting more regularly, with improved content and resources. As much as I love writing for PSDFAN it’s a real struggle being practically the only regular writer. This way everyone wins!
